Adobe’s technology developers conference, Max 2011, witnessed the launch of the very first Smart TV application that uses the Adobe AIR.
Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, leader and trendsetter in digital media and digital technologies launched the Samsung Smart TV with applications that run using Adobe(R) AIR(R). This is another milestone for Samsung which is working on the evolution of Samsung’s connected entertainment ecosystem.
It is a system that offers rich content experience through various Samsung products like televisions, mobile phones, and PCs and tablet computers.
The application available with the latest Samsung Smart TV is based on VH1’s Flash technology ‘I Love the ‘80s Trivia’ which will be made available in the US via the Samsung application marketplace this fall.
Kristin Frank, GM of MTV and VH1 digital said "We are pleased that the rich content and vibrant colors bring the '80s back to life with the 'I Love the '80s Trivia' app and provide our audience another screen on Samsung Smart TVs."
Currently, Adobe AIR for TV 2.5 will be available to developers with Samsung Smart TV models. In North and South American markets this will also be available with Samsung Smart Blu-ray Players by the end of this year.
