EA’s latest multi-format game FIFA 12 has had the third biggest launch in the UK beating the Grand Theft Auto 4.
According to Metro, the game now holds the record of third biggest launch in the UK in multi-format chart and comes in behind Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3: Black Ops.
The game is currently at the top of the UK multi-format games chart, followed by Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360 and F1 2011 which is for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 version of the game is on the number one spot in the individual chart followed by the PS3 version of FIFA 12.
The sales of the game increased by 18 percent while the revenue generated by the game increased by 34 percent.
Around 54 percent of the game sold was for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 while 44 percent of the units were for Sony’s PlayStation 3. Only 2 percent of the units were sold for other formats, which includes PC, Nintendo Wii, PSP and 3DS.
On an interesting note, a Classics HD game, ICO & Shadow of the Colossus, managed to reach the 8th spot in the individual chart which is highest for a Classics HD game.
