Interesting news for those looking forward to Microsoft’s upcoming next generation Xbox 720. In the trailer, of soon-to-be released Hollywood Sci-Fi ‘Real Steel’ starring Hugh Jackman, the Logo of Xbox 720 can be seen for almost 46 seconds.
This is not the first time a Microsoft product has made an appearance in a Hollywood movie. In 2005 the movie, "The Island" was featured a Sci-fi Xbox which had a holographic interface.
From the latest appearance in the Real Steel movie, it can be safely concluded that the next generation Xbox is to be called Xbox 720, as this is the first time Microsoft has used this name in public.
Back in August, Xbox Boss Chris Lewis said, "We think we're a little over halfway with the life cycle of the console, but that's not to say there won't be an overlap. I'm not going to announce specifically or talk about timing. But you could imagine there could be overlap, it depends. We're not being specific about the next generation at this stage."
This statement was made in relation to the fact that Microsoft said earlier that the 2005 launched Xbox 360 is a ten-year plan, however, this never meant that a successor console would be launched during this period.
