The FlexNetwork portfolio of HP, introduced earlier in the year, has been extended further with new hardware and management tools for cloud as well as video usage.
To support simplification of migration to the latest Internet protocols, 10 Gigabit Ethernet networking and virtualised branch services, HP has announced a line a products for virtualisation, multimedia applications and enterprise mobility at Interop New York.
Bethany Mayer, senior Vice President and General Manager of HP networking said, “Enterprises need a simpler networking infrastructure that’s scalable and flexible to keep pace with the dynamic needs of business applications,” eWeek reports.
Mayer also announced that change of CEO of the company will not affect the networking divisions operations in anyway.
The addition of the FlexiNetwork will support adoption of cloud, video and other such rich multimedia applications. The line of new products starts with FlexFabric data centre additions which is a 10 GbE HP 5900 top-of-rack switches and an updated version of HP 12500 switch series. This, as per the proclamation of the company, will improve the server to server traffic performance by up to 80 percent.
Part of this change is that the broadening of the product range refers to the new architecture for campus environments to unify wired and wireless networks for mobility and to support high bandwidth unified communication and video.
