South Korean consumer electronics company Samsung has announced the availability of two new Galaxy S WIFI devices with a 5-inch screen and a 3.6-inch display – with the larger one now available, and the smaller device arrives in November.
The two devices are almost Apple iPod touch versions of existing Samsung Galaxy mobile phones, with no cellular abilities and WIFI is the only way the two products can gain Internet access.
“With the Galaxy Wi-Fi we have created a device that allows consumers all the fun and freedom of our other Android Galaxy devices.” - Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.
Samsung’s Galaxy S WIFI 3.6 will ship with a 3.65-inch HVGA TFT LCD screen, whilst powered by a single core 1GHz processor, with a 2 megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA variant and the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 OS.
There are two storage capacities with a 3.6 model, an 8GB and a 16GB version, costing £149 and £169, respectively.
The Samsung Galaxy S WIFI 5.0 is now around with a 5.0-inch 800x480 WVGA TFT LCD screen, with a 1GHz CPU, a rear 3.2 megapixel camera and a front VGA version with the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 platform.
Two different storage sizes are available, with a price attached of £199 and £219, for the 8GB and 16GB products.
