Two Arrested in Apple Covent Garden Store Burglary

The police have arrested two people in connection to the smash-and-grab robbery at Apple’s Covent Garden store in Central London.

According to The Guardian, the police were called on the scene at around 1 in the morning on Monday, after robbers smashed a window of the store and stole several precious Apple devices on display.

The Scotland Yard informed that around 7 robbers on motorcycles and moped were involved in the robbery. As of now, the police are not aware of the value of the Apple goods that were stolen during the raid but, sources claim that the devices worth thousands of pounds could have been stolen.

The police later arrested a 16 year boy and a 21 year old man believed to be two of the robbers. Bags full of merchandise believed to have been stolen from the store were found in their possession when they were arrested.

“Although two men are in custody on suspicion of burglary, the inquiry continues and other persons are sought. It is essential that anyone who saw the smash and grab, or the suspects making off, contact us as soon as possible,” said Detective Sergeant Nathan Tozer of Westminster CID.
