Two recent and similar reports suggest that the iPhone 4S has 512 MB of RAM, the same amount as its predecessor.
The first and most significant source who pointed out that the iPhone 4S does not have more RAM than the iPhone 4 is Donald Mustard from Epic Games, developer of Infinity Blade 2.
As the demo of the game was shown at Apple's big iPhone event on October 4th, Mustard should be a trustworthy source, as he probably had earlier versions of the iPhone 4S while we were all just speculating about the phone's characteristics.
“I’m still shocked that, with the iPhone 4S, I’m literally running around with a 1080p video camera in my pocket, with an eight megapixel camera, 64GB of hard drive space and an A5 chip with 512MB of memory. This is a really powerful computer, right? That’s going to allow us to do some really cool stuff for gaming,” Mustard keenly divulged.
Similar information comes from the Chinese blogosphere. A user who seems to have got hold of the newly released iPhone 4S ahead of the shipping date, also says that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S sport the same 512 MB of RAM.
Some users may be disappointed, if this information is indeed true, as rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Evo 3D, already come with 1GB of RAM.
