Seagate Introduces the Goflex Cinema Drive for Home Multimedia Use

Digital storage solution provider Seagate has launched the Goflex Cinema drive, a brand new multimedia storage device aimed at home users.

Goflex Cinema, according to the company, has been designed in such a way that all a user needs to do is plug the device in directly to a TV, or any other viewing setup, to instantly equip themselves with a quality digital media center.

Seagate made the drive available in three variants - 1 TB, 2 TB and 3TB storage capacities, thus allowing users to choose according to their requirements.

Seagate also brags that the drive supports almost all the popular file formats such as MKV, H.264, WMV and MP4. It is also compatible with full HD 1080p. In addition, other multimedia contents such as digital images can be transferred directly to the device from a digital camera.

"This new high-capacity drive is designed to transform the television into a digital media center. The drive comes equipped with all of the port connections and support for popular file formats that make it easy to start enjoying movies, music and photos away from the computer environment," claims the company in a statement, as reported (opens in new tab) by the Inquirer.
