Dell is opening a new 5,000 sq ft data centre in the U.K. This leads to the presumption that the IT hardware manufacturer might have invested in new server racks in the recent times.
As per schedule, the operation of this Slough based facility will start on November 3rd and will have two sections one for the rows of cabinets and another with IT capacity used for Dell Modular Data Centres.
This is the part of Dell’s global data centre expansion plans. These plans were announced by Dell in the month of April this year. To improve the company’s facilities Dell is having a scheme of $1 billion which will last for next two years.
Vice president of infrastructure and cloud computing at Dell, Don Mann commented, “[The new facility] reinforces our commitment to deliver industry-leading services and solutions that help our customers innovate and drive business results." Comms Express reported.
Dell in the 2011 Corporate Responsibility Report mentioned that their servers are now 31 times more efficient than what they were five years ago.
Dell has promised that the new data centre will have state-of-the-art facility with advanced cooling systems.
