New Jailbreaker Tool for iOS 5 Platform; Does Not Support iPhone 4S or iPad 2

Jailbreakers have already released a jailbreak tool for Apple’s newest iOS 5 platform. However, the tool, which has been made possible due to an early beta release, does not support the new iPhone 4S.

The Ultrasn0w 1.2.4 jailbreaking tool has been released for the iPod touch 3G and 4G, original iPad, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. The tool does not support the latest iPhone 4S or the iPad 2.

Users were warned beforehand that jailbreaking their device would void the phone’s warranty and disable a lot of features offered by Apple and third party apps which come pre-installed on the device.

Developers stated that the tool was a tethered jailbreak, which means users will have to connect their device with a Windows PC or Mac that runs Redsn0w every single time they reboot the jailbroken device. There is also a huge possibility that the device will get bricked, so users are advised to proceed with caution.

iOS 5 brings more than 200 features to the platform including the Siri voice recognition assistant, iMessage, which will allow iOS users to communicate with each other for free and deeper integration with Twitter.
