More details of the Motorola DROID HD (which is also known as the Droid Razr or the Spyder) have emerged courtesy of US tech website BGR (opens in new tab).
The phone is expected to be released next week by Verizon Wireless and Google-owned Motorola. BGR says that the phone will be both thinner and faster than the iPhone 4S and will have 1GB RAM, twice that of the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 4.
It is also expected to be powered by a dual core SoC clcoked at 1.2GHz (we suspect it will be a TI OMAP4 model given that the Atrix 2 has shunned Nvidia For Texas Instruments).
Apart from the fact that it will be a full 4G LTE phone (the thinnest to date according to the source), it is also expected to have a 4.3-inch display which would make it a tad similar to the Samsung Galaxy S2.
Other rumours surrounding the phone include a chassis manfuactured with Kevlar, a Gorilla glass display and a splash-resistant coating (aquaphobic?).
It will be interesting to see whether the phone **really"" turns out to be thinner than the iPhone 4 or just at its thinnest point like the Galaxy S2. If this is the case, it will be the thinnest smartphone on the market so far.
