Enterprise networking technology maker Cisco has dished out a new range of virtual desktop products which bring high quality audio and video capabilities to virtual desktop environments.
The company, apart from announcing the new products, also announced a strategic partnership with Citrix on virtualisation and device management.
The company informed that its Cisco Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) platform will be optimised for the Citrix XenDesktop which will bring with it high perform for virtual desktops and applications.
The partnership will also see Cisco making its network compatible with Citrix HDX. Cisco also said that it was bringing voice and audio support for Cisco Virtual Experience Clients and enterprise tablet device Cisco Cius which runs Citrix XenDesktop and Citrix Receiver.
“Enterprises are rapidly adopting desktop virtualization for mainstream use in order to enable a mobile workforce, and they are looking for their strategic partners like Citrix and Cisco to deliver end-to-end integrated solutions,” said Sumit Dhawan, group vice president and general manager, Receiver and Gateways group at Citrix.
“Our new five-year strategic alliance agreement will allow our two companies to enable customers to scale their virtual desktop deployments with increased confidence and security, while also ensuring a high-quality desktop, voice and video experience for their users,” he added.
