Google HQ Gets Android Ice Cream Sandwich Statue

As a goodwill gesture and to pay homage to late Steve Jobs Google decided to postpone the debut of Ice Cream Sandwich which is the next version of its Android mobile operating system optimized for smart phones.

Despite this delay, recently I Programmer (opens in new tab) blog discovered that even though the Ice Cream Sandwich was postponed, somebody actually forget to postpone the delivery of the Android themed statue which is now placed with the rest of the Android family. The statue can be seen at the head quarters of the search giant’s California office.

Now, the area outside Building 44 of Google looks somewhat like a Candyland as the Ice Cream Sandwich recently joined other Android-version commemorating statues like a ginormous doughnut (Android 1.6 Donut), giant eclair (Android 2.0 Eclair), and a big old cup of frozen yogurt for the Android 2.2 Froyo.

In fact, the garden also has a statue of the iconic green robot which represents the Android OS. The most interesting thing about the Ice Cream Sandwich is that this is the only version statue which is in the shape of the Android icon itself.

The Ice Cream Sandwich will be unveiled on the Samsung Nexus Prime smart phone. However after postponing its debut date no official date has been declared yet.
