iPhone 4 Rival Alert : Vodafone Slashes Price Of Nexus S

Vodafone has teamed up with cashback firm, Quidco, to provide an exclusive offer on the Google Nexus S, whose successor, the Galaxy Nexus has just been announced.

The white version of the Nexus S is available from Vodafone via a dedicated Quidco link, for as little as £13 per month on a two year contract with an additional £70 cashback from Quidco (note that you have to be a signed up Quidco member and that the deal expires in five days (opens in new tab)).

The contract (which has a total cost of ownership of £242 after the cashback) provides 100 minutes, 500 texts, 100MB mobile internet data with 500MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi access.

The phone is still a decent handset although it was superseded as early as January this year by better models - that's just a few weeks after it was launched.

In a nutshell, it is an upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S. It has a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD screen, 512MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage (no microSD card), a single core Samsung Hummingbird Cortex-A8 SoC clocked at 1GHz (similar to the iPhone 4), Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread, a five megapixel camera with a front facing VGA one, Wi-Fi, HSPDA, Bluetooth and a 1500mAh battery.

It's worth noting that this model is the one with a Super LCD screen rather than the more expensive Super AMOLED one.
