Asus unwrapped its brand new next-generation tablet device in Hong Kong on Thursday. Dubbed Eee Pad Transformer, the device has the potential to operate both as a laptop, as well as a tablet PC, claims Asus.
It is important to note here that the company, which, until a few years ago, was hardly known to consumers outside its home continent. Over time, the company has spread its wings.
The new Eee Pad Transformer is believed to be the latest offering to fit in to this trend. The device, unveiled by Asustek chairman Johnny Shih, features a sophisticated quad core Tegra 3 processor, and is equipped with a 10.1 inch display, as well as a mini HDMI output.
The device will run on the Android OS platform and it will be integrated with all standard Android connectivity features.The Eee Pad Transformer will officially be launched by the company on the November 9th.
What’s most thrilling about the Eee Pad, according to Shih, is that the device will receive an upgrade to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich by the end of the year.
