iPhone 4S RIval Alert : Samsung Galaxy S II From £335

If you are ready to play the cashback gamble, and you're after a top of the range handset like the Samsung Galaxy SII, then it may be worth exploring this deal from O2.

This deal requires (opens in new tab) a membership with Quidco and taking on a 24 month contract direct from O2. The cheapest tariff for the phone costs £13.50 for the first month but you can cancel the data cost to bring it down to £10.50 per month.

This gives you 50 minutes and 250 texts but given that the deal is all about the phone (and assumes that you will either unlock the phone or use another O2, GiffGaff or Tesco Mobile SIM), the amount of text/minutes will be irrelevant.

The upfront fee of £179 will be amortised by the £100 from the cashback deal which means that you will have to fork out only £79.

Hence, customers will be paying £13.50 for the first month, then £10.50 for 23 consecutive months with an initial fee of £179 and a cashback of £100 which brings the total cost of ownership to £334 which is nearly a third cheaper than the iPhone 4S.

The Samsung Galaxy S II comes with a powerful dual core system on chip clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, an eight megapixel camera with full HD video recording and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
