Nextag, a leading U.S based online shopping portal, announced on Tuesday that it is going ahead with the proposed acquisition of the real time online social shopping platform Thingbuzz.
Thingbuzz allows consumers to interact amongst themselves in a social media environment. According to Nextag, the acquisition has been finalised with the vision of providing its customers with a brand new social shopping experience.
The company also stated that the integration of Thingbuzz with its existing services will allow Nextag users to take full advantage of personalised and real time information on new products. "Our acquisition of Thingbuzz is the first step in delivering our customers a fully integrated and rewarding social shopping experience," Jeffrey G. Katz, chief executive officer of Nextag said in a statement (opens in new tab).
"We're so pleased to welcome the Thingbuzz team to Nextag and provide our shoppers with even more personalised search results for unlocking the best deals on the Web," the CEO continued.
This happens to be the fourth acquisition carried out by the San Mateo based shopping portal within a span of just over a year. Previously, it had acquired guenstiger.de GmbH- a Germany based online comparison shopping platform too.
