iPhone 4S Rival Alert : HTC Sensation XE Falls to £450 with Free Contract

The HTC Sensation XE might be only a few weeks old but already mobile phone operators have been eager to drop contract prices in order to lure users away from the competition (most notably the iPhone 4S).

AffordableMobiles (opens in new tab) is selling the device on an 18-month contract for only £25.26 per month with a £5 cashback and a total cost of ownership of just under £450.

In other words, you get the phone plus 300 minutes, 300 texts, unlimited internet (on T-mobile's network) for £450 net with 18 monthly interest-free payments of around £25, which is a proper bargain.

The Sensation XE is the replacement for the original Sensation. It comes with a black and red colour scheme, a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, 768MB RAM, 4GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 960x540 pixel resolution, an eight-megapixel camera, a battery that can deliver 440 minutes talktime on 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a custom-built pair of Beats headphones.

At £450, the Sensation XE is cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 4S and represents a viable alternative to Apple's handset.
