Toshiba has deveoped a brand new 6.1-inch display screen, equipped with an impressive pixel density of 498p per inch .According to Toshiba, the new display is capable of providing users with photo print quality pictures; the resolution being as high as 2,560 x 1,600p.
The resolution, interestingly, is higher than the standard HD resolution, which stands at 1920 x 1080p. According to industry experts, this new display may revolutionise the marketplace.
It is worth noting that display was developed to outperform the Retina Display used in popular Apple products such as the iPhone 4, iPod Touch as well as the iPhone 4S. These products are equipped with a pixel density of 326 ppi.
"This newly-developed world-class, high-definition LCD panel is based on our processing techniques for forming fine-pitch and high-performance, low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) thin-film transistors (TFT) on glass substrates, and other precise fabrication techniques which have been cultivated over the years,” the company stated, according to Tech Radar.
