Anonymous Targets Child Abuse Website, Publishes Users' Credentials

An underground website containing what could be termed as rather disturbing child pornographic images and videos, have found itself at the receiving end of the wrath of the hacktivist group Anonymous.

Anonymous members claimed that they targeted and penetrated into the network of the company hosting ‘Lolita City', the Website in question. The hacktivist group also managed to get their hands on the login credentials of 1500 users of the site, and went on publishing all of them online.

According to Anonymous, the website, used by paedophiles, was promoting socially dangerous trends such as child molestation, rape and even killing of innocent children.

"We are eliminating 40+ child pornography websites, among these is Lolita City, one of the largest child pornography websites to date containing more than 100GB of child pornography," Anonymous stated, according to this report by The Telegraph.

Anonymous also revealed that they discovered Lolita City through the Hidden Wiki - the underground website which is accessible via the Tor Network. Hidden Wiki basically provided links to a wide range of underground, illegal online services.

"Their intentions may have been good, but take-downs of illegal websites and sharing networks should be done by the authorities, not internet vigilantes," Graham Cluley of the British security firm Sophos expressed his mind on the issue, the Telegraph reports.
