Noon News: ViewPad 7e, Samsung Nexus S Getting Ice Cream Sandwich, TomTom iOS 5 App

After the ViewPad 10e, Viewsonic has announced the ViewPad 7e, essentially a smaller version of the 10e and one which costs $200 in the US (which roughly translates into £199 in the UK).

The Samsung Nexus S, which was launched nearly one year ago now, will get the just released Ice Cream Sandwich update which was launched at the same time as its successor the Galaxy Nexus. Hugo Barra, the guy in charge of products for mobile at Google, said that ICS will come to existing Nexus S smartphones, possibly via an over-the-air update, within weeks.

John McCarthy, the computer scientist to first coin the term ‘Artificial Intelligence' or AI 1in 1955 has passed away at the age of 84. McCarthy not only defined the term Artificial Intelligence - the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, but also worked on robotics and development of the programming language LISP that is till date being used by the AI community across the globe.

TomTom, the Dutch company behind the famous navigation system, has upgraded its navigation app for iPhone and iPad devices. The application, dubbed TomTom App for iPhone/iPad, has been upgraded to version 1.9 has been made compatible with the newly released iOS 5.

An anonymous source has performed a full set of tests on the HTC Titan and the Nokia 800, the soon to be announced Windows Phone 7.5 handset from the Finnish manufacturer.
