TomTom, the Dutch company behind the famous navigation system, has upgraded its navigation app for iPhone and iPad devices.
The application, dubbed TomTom App for iPhone/iPad, has been upgraded to version 1.9 has been made compatible with the newly released iOS 5. This version comes with enhanced user interface to fit larger screen size of iPads. The upgraded UI allows users to view both the driving lane as well as advanced lane guidance. Users will also have the ability to switch between the two views at any given time with just a single touch from anywhere within the app reports intomobile.
Additionally, the app also comes with high resolution that gives out crisp and clear images. TomTom's Corinne Vigreux said: "This new release, now officially called TomTom App for iPhone/iPad, is a logical next step for us. Our customers asked us for iPad features, and now they have them."
On top of these features, TomTom has also managed to release new maps along with updated roads and new points of interests. HD Traffic update is also available through in-app purchase in case users want to opt for that option. Subscribers of TomTom HD having iPhone app may upgrade their app to iPad version without any extra cost.
The European version is available from the App store for $119.99.
