IRIS 9000 From ThinkGeek for iPhone 4S Helps Control Siri

ThinkGeek has unveiled a new iPhone 4S companion that will allow users to control the Siri voice controlled assistant from anywhere in the room using a remote.

The IRIS 9000, which looks uncannily like Hal from ‘2001: A Space Odessey', comes with a dock, a small, futuristic looking speaker with a cool red-eye, which flickers as Siri responds, and a small microphone/remote, which can be used to activate and give voice commands to Siri.

The retail price of the IRIS 9000 is $60 but, is currently out of stock, according to the ThinkGeek website.

The IRIS 9000 comes with a small remote control with mic, which can be used to activate Siri with a button and give voice commands. The device, which is only compatible with the iPhone 4S, comes with a dock and a speaker, which is used to amplify Siri's responses.

IRIS can also double up as a speaker phone, which allows people to make and answer phone calls without leaving their couch.

"Having an artificially intelligent computer at our beck and call has long been the fantasy of every green blooded sci-fi fan amongst us. Finally Siri on the iPhone 4s has given us a tantalizing taste of this promised future... and we're lapping it up," ThinkGeek said.
