iPad 2 Rival Alert : RIM does BTGOF Deal on Playbook Tablet

Research in Motion is keen to boost sales of its Blackberry Playbook tablet, how keen? Well, according to Zach Epstein from BGR, they've just introduced a new 'buy two get one free' scheme which is valid from now till the end of December.

The deal is valid for business customers who purchase the tablet from an authorised Value Added Reseller. In addition, users will get to choose between one of either a leather sleeve, a charging pad or an HDMI cable.

RIM has confirmed that it will delay the next version of its Blackberry OS 2.0 update till next year, that was supposed to bring email and other personal information management services to the device.

Furthermore, standalone BBM capabilities won't come to the Playbook until next year. The Blackberry Playbook is currently on sale at a number of resellers in the UK for as little as £239.99, which is a full 20 per cent discount off the suggested retail price.

The BTGOF deal represents a 33 per cent discount per tablet. We also reported that a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse is currently selling a Blackberry Curve 8520 with a Blackberry Playbook and a proper contract for as little as £30 per month on a 12 month contract.
