Amazon Announces Return Of Black Friday

Amazon has confirmed that it will hold a Black Friday deals week for the second year running in the UK, from Monday 21st to Friday 25th of November.

The event, which mirrors what happens in America, will see offers lasting from 15 minutes to four hours and will include books, music, electronics, home and more; the deal will be hosted on Amazon's own Today's Deals page and is expected to generate a huge amount of interest.

Last year's Black Friday proved to be disappointing for many given that some of the the most sought-after deals were sold out within minutes.

Back then, 500 deals were spread over five days with discounts of up to 80 per cent on products including £50 Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii consoles, Sony TVs and Adobe software.

It will be interesting to find out whether Amazon will have enough stock this time around or whether it will take a chance with the Advertising Standards Authority and the fact that it may face a backlash from angry shoppers.

Apple has a had its own Black Friday event at the end of November in the past few years as well, although the last one was slightly disappointing.
