In the 3rd quarter of this year High Tech Computer Inc. (HTC) successfully sold double number of smartphones as compared to the same period last year as per their quarterly results.
With the Great War of Patents going on, the duo of Android and Windows Phone based HTC smartphones sold 13.2 million smartphones in period during July to September which is 93 percent from third quarter of 2010, this figure will definitely affect Apple's strategies and plans.
For HTC China is its biggest market for their phones and the sale of smartphones in China is nine times better as compared to 2010's third quarter.
In a canned statement HTC said, "China is one of the most important growth regions for HTC, and China reported top sales growth across all regions this quarter."
It further added that, "[HTC] aims to capture early brand preference in China, as smartphone penetration is at an early stage," reported The Register.
Touting its 4G devices, the Taiwanese firm claimed that they are at the position of leadership in LTE simply because of the reason that their huge collection of handsets always supports the standard.
The company, which is doing tremendously well is setting up a new factory in the Taoyuan province in Taiwan, where their HQ is also located. This new set up will increase their production capability by 40 million units.
