Novatel Celebrating as It Shipped 3 Million MiFi Hotspots

This week Novatel Wireless is celebrating a milestone, the company announced. The fact that they successfully shipped three million units of MiFi portable intelligent hotspots till date is the reason of celebration.

This MiFi portable device was introduced in 2009. This small box allows sharing of 3G and 4G connection among multiple devices through Wi-Fi.

MiFi is the first one of its kind of product, however, soon after its release many more similar product entered into the hotspot mobile train.

Novatel Wireless is having some very important patents that are crucial for the operation of MiFi technology.

Currently, MiFi is using 25 different types of network carriers all over the world to operate itself, the company revealed in a post (opens in new tab) announcing the milestone.

Novatel Wireless further added DLNA in the MiFi to increase the capacity of hotspot this June. Before introduction of the DLNA, the ability to store data was offered by MiFi on microSD card which can be planted on the memory card slot that was available in some of the models.

As Novatel is bringing so many changes and update in its services and operations, a lot can be expected from them in the future and the current milestone will definitely prove to be a big boost for them.
