Angry birds reaches half a billion downloads

Finnish software developers Rovio has announced the popular game Angry Birds has now been downloaded 500 million times and across all the compatible platforms, in total.

Angry birds is one of the most downloaded games in history, where in total more than 200,000 years have been spent playing the game with 300 million minutes of daily time spent on the app.

This relates to 266 billion levels of angry birds being played, with 400 million birds being launched and 44 billion stars being collected.

Angry birds franchise consists of angry birds, angry birds seasons and angry birds Rio and is now available on every major smartphone platform, including the Chrome web browser, and PC and Mac.

Recently, Nokia announced the game for the Nokia Asha 300 and 303 S40 feature phones where Rovio is bringing angry birds to new emerging mobile markets.
