Amazon Kindle Fire Launch Apps: Netflix, Twitter, Facebook and More

Online retail giant Amazon has released a list of apps that people will be able to download on their Kindle Fire tablet device when it launches on November 14.

In a press release (opens in new tab), the company informed that it had started rallying developers to make apps for the tablet device, which runs on a modified version of Android, ever since it had unveiled the device and has received a great response.

Amazon said that new Kindle Fire users will be able to download popular Android apps like Netflix, Rhapsody, Pandora, Twitter, Facebook; Comics by comiXology; The Weather Channel designed specifically for Kindle Fire, etc.

The company also said that apart from millions of movies, books and movies from Amazon, Kindle Fire will also have access to games from Zynga, EA, Gameloft, PopCap and Rovio.

We started talking to app developers everywhere the day we introduced Kindle Fire, and the response has been overwhelming," Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle.

"In addition to over 18 million movies, TV shows, songs, books, and magazines from Amazon, we are excited to offer customers thousands of apps and games to choose from on Kindle Fire - from Pandora and Rhapsody to Facebook and Twitter to Netflix, as well as popular games from EA, Zynga and many other top game developers," he added.
