Lovefilm releases Android app, with access to 70,000 movies and games

Popular mobile rental service Lovefilm has now brought out an application for the Google mobile operating system, for their customers to manage their rentals whilst on the move.

The Lovefilm builds on from the iPhone application, which has been downloaded more than half a million times by their hundreds of thousands of users.

Android owners until now have had to use unofficial app for accessing Lovefilm, where this is the first official application from the company.

The app allows for browsing and search through the full 70,000 strong catalogue of DVDs, Blu-Rays and Games with trailers, reviews and ratings.

Customers can also manage all of the rental lists through the ‘My Lists’ section, along with adding, deleting, changing priority or swapping titles between lists.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any movie streaming functionality within the Android application, although there is on the Apple iPad version.

Non-customers can get a 30-day FREE trial using the promo code ANDROID01, by registering at www.lovefilm.com.

Lovefilm application for Google mobile platform is available now on the Android Market here, for version Android 2.2 upwards – for the UK, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, with Germany to follow soon.
