iPhone 4, 3GS Top Best-Selling Charts in US According to Analysts

According to reports published by analysts from IDC and NPD Group, during the third quarter of current year iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS secured the top two spots for being the highest selling smartphones in USA. Besides, on the developer's interest lists Apple's iOS became the number one operating system for the same quarter.

Apple smartphones have been doing really well and other companies definitely have lots to worry about after the reports were published. In fact, IDC report even mentions that iOS continues "to reign at number 1".

According to IDC's quarterly report 91 percent of the total respondents said that they have keen interest in iPhone developing and 88 percent gave the same statement about iPad, reported by Slash Gear (opens in new tab).

The same report revealed that Windows Phone 7 is in the third spot and also commented that Microsoft must put effort to stick to its current position or try to move ahead. 38 percent respondents showed interest in the Windows Phone 7, as published in IDC website (opens in new tab).

The direct effect of iOS 5 success is that Android market position got affected, however, Samsung's number one position as smartphone manufacturer in US is the most remarkable development.
