Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Earns $775 Million Globally in First Five Days

Activision declared that its latest release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 broke all previous records for five-day entertainment gross.

Within the first five days since its release this game has earned $775 million globally and interestingly, during the first two days over 6.5 million copies were sold. The latest game in the Call of Duty game was released on 8th November.

Previously, the holder of the first five day record was Call of Duty: Black Ops released last year, which earned $650 million, as reported (opens in new tab) by Times LIVE.

Two different versions and configurations of the latest Call of Duty game has been released by Activision. Previous versions of the game Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops were available in three forms: Standard ($59), Hardened ($79) and Prestige ($149) for Xbox 360 and PS 3.

In case of Modern Warfare 3, the Prestige tier has been removed and replaced with a more expensive $99 Hardened edition which has $49 Call of Duty Elite's complementary year- long subscription and some other goodies.

Activision's newest Call of Duty game is set to defeat any game to claim the number one spot in the world of gaming.
