iPhone 4 Rival Alert : Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Down To £130!!

If you are a customer of Orange or T-Mobile, now part of Everything Everywhere, you can buy a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play from Phones4U for only £129.95. The deal is instore only and emanates from Hotukdeals (opens in new tab) where you can find more details.

In a nutshell, the price doesn't require any top-up and comes with a 16GB microSD card. In addition, there's no network branding and the Play is unlocked. The icing on the cake is an additional four downloaded games on top of the six already preinstalled.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has to be the bargain of the year, not far behind the HP TouchPad tablet, both of which started life with a premium price but then had to quickly reassess their ambitions based on market conditions.

The handset is still a great little device considering that it comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, 512MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 4-inch 854x480 pixel touchscreen, a physical slideout controller, a five-megapixel camera and a few more titbits.

The phone was launched earlier this year at Mobile World Congress and while the concept was exciting, it proved to be rather disappointing when it came to sales.
