The next generation of productivity suite by Microsoft Corporation, that is codenamed Office 15, will probably see a beta release in the month of January next year.
WinRumors (opens in new tab), citing some sources related to the developments, reported that the software giant is working towards achieving a milestone for the full beta version to be launched in late January, 2012.
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012, a technology preview version of this software may be distributed along with the Windows 8 beta, reported Slash Gear (opens in new tab).
The all new beta version of Office 15 will have an all new look as well as a more touch-friendly interface. As Windows 8 will be compatible with both desktop PCs and also touchscreen tablets the Office 15 must work well with pen, touch as well as mouse.
To simplify navigation, Metro UI and elements based on tiles of "Windows 8 for tablets interface will be integrated" and this will include launch of the latest "Moorea" app which performs as a landing screen with content tiles for better and easier navigation along with access to the users' documents.
Steve Ballmer, CEO at Microsoft disclosed in the month of September that the company is definitely considering "to do Office Metro style" for the new Office suite.
