Content delivery network (CDN) provider Jet Stream has inked a commercial partnership deal with NGINX to bring specialised CDN offerings to the enterprise.
Jet Stream said that the partnership with the open source web server maker will allow it to deliver CDN solutions to network providers, enterprises, telecom companies and content providers.
Under the partnership, Jet Stream plans to integrate NGINX open source platform with its own software suite, complete with extensions and additional controls. The company said that the use of NGINX's software will bring enhanced reliability and performance due to the NGINX edge notes, which are designed to deliver several GBs of outbound traffic per server.
NGINX, whose open source web servers power 25 percent of the top 1,000 most busiest websites in the world, will provide additional commercial extensions for its software which will be used in content delivery networks.
"Jet-Stream is the most innovative company in the multimedia content delivery space with enormous influence on this segment of the industry," said Andrey Alexeev, co-founder of NGINX.
"We are very pleased to inaugurate this new partnership, which enables both our companies to provide a rich new set of performance benefits to a wider range of enterprise and telecommunications customers." he said.
