Sky recently announced that the Sky Go mobile service will soon include streaming films "on demand" for subscribers.
It is a major move for Sky to be enjoyed by individuals who use iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch to access Sky Go. These users can stream movies as soon as the 3G Wi-fi is active on Sky.
In the past, Sky only provided linear film channels on smartphones and tablets. Movie streaming was only part of the desktop and laptop versions of Sky Go.
On-demand movies will be a new offering by the company. However; movies for downloading will not be available on iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch for now. Sky has been hinting about this for a long time, reports Tech Radar.
Director of Sky Movies, Ian Lewis, stated, "Sky Movies on demand is a great addition to Sky Go and gives customers complete control over how, when, and now, where they enjoy the latest movies."
In fact, Sky also confirmed that "the Sky Go app is to launch on Android handsets in the coming months." Thus, there are quite a few surprises to be delivered from Sky.
