Apple's website was the fifth most visited retail website on Black Friday last week, new comScore data has revealed.
According to comScore, Apple came in fifth behind Target, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Amazon. comScore claimed Apple was closing in on Target in terms of overall website traffic, All Things D reported.
"Apple has not historically been in the top five - in fact, this is the first time I can remember," said Andrew Lipsman, an analyst at comScore.
"Even though Apple does not provide the selection of products that you might find at a big box retailer, it is obviously top of mind when it comes to the most in-demand products, like the iPhone and iPad. Two of the biggest growth sectors right now are tablets and digital content downloads, and obviously Apple is extremely well positioned on both fronts," he added.
Apple was the only individual product brand that got so much traffic, while the rest offered other brands as well.
Several independent reports are claiming that this year's Black Friday was the biggest for Apple, breaking all single day sales records for the company.
