If you're looking to purchase a smartphone from a reputable handset maker with plenty of onboard storage and a decent physical keyboard, then Ebuyer has a few Palm Pre 2 handsets on offer for £100.
And you do get a lot of hardware for that price. This is a true world smartphone with a full keyboard and a decent 3.1-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 16GB onboard storage, a five megapixel camera with LED light, HP Web OS 2.0 and up to five hours battery life.
Other features include a Cortex A8 based chipset clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi (and the ability to transform into a Wi-Fi hotspot), Bluetooth, a number of sensors and touchstone compatibility which allows the handset to charge and sync via a wireless docking station.
The Pre 2 is still a pretty capable handset that doesn't however have a bright future given that HP has already cancelled the development of the Web OS platform, having already canned the HP Touchpad tablet earlier this year.
Ebuyer is also selling the Pre 2 with its signature docking station for £20 extra and the HP Pre 3 smartphone for £200. Another capable and more flexible device at this price would be the Orange San Francisco II which runs Android Gingerbread.
