The Nokia Lumia 800 is currently on offer at Dialaphone for a mere £312 on O2 with a full 24 months worth of free minutes and texts. You will need to use two well known tricks in order to bring the total cost of ownership down from £631.
The first, is to remove the rather expensive data bolt-on option which costs £10 as soon as possible, and then downgrade your contract from month 13 onwards.
This cuts the price of the handset and the contract to £312. You will get 100 minutes, 500 texts for the first 12 months and 50 minutes and 250 texts for the last 12.
The deal's attractiveness mainly lies in the fact that you can pay a reasonable fee each month and get a top of the range Windows Phone smartphone. Note that the handset will be locked to O2 but can be used on Tesco Mobile and GiffGaff.
The phone was released back in 2011 and comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen covered with Gorilla glass and uses Nokia's ClearBlack display.
It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset clocked at 1.4GHz and comes with 512MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, an eight megapixel camera with HD video recording, Wi-Fi, a microUSB port and an array of applications which come as part of Windows Phone.
