New Version of BlackBerry App World Allows Wi-Fi Connect

Research in Motion has silently rolled out a new beta version of its BlackBerry App World platform, which comes with some UI changes and interesting new features such as Wi-Fi connectivity option.

According to ZimGossip, the BlackBerry App World 3.1 beta comes with a new app gifting feature.

Users will be able to request their friends to send them apps over BBM while they will be able to gift apps to their BBM friends. RIM kept its promise about adoption of a rating system for the apps on BlackBerry platform by incorporating a app content rating system.

The content rating system allows developers to rate their applications so that people know what kind of content an app will have judging by the rating. Further, BB App World comes with the ability to connect over Wi-Fi and support for languages like Thai, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Dutch.

In related news, Research in Motion launched the BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing version 2.0, which allows users to manage conference calls on their BlackBerry devices.
