Smartphone maker Research in Motion has released the BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing 2.0 app to make it easier for customers to manage conference calls on their smartphones.
Apart from making conference calls much easier to manage, the free app comes with a lot of new functionalities, like the ability to turn an email thread into a conference call by using a user's conference bridge details.
The app, which is available from the BlackBerry App World platform as a free download, is capable of automating processes which are otherwise prone to error, like dialling into a conference call, which usually involves multiple main numbers and a conference ID.
Such complicated methods are replaced by a ‘Join Now' mode, which allows users to instantly be part of a conference call. The app also comes with the ability to instantly reconnect if they are dropped from an on-going conference call.
"BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing is an essential app for anyone who sets up or joins conference calls," said Tom Goguen, vice president, collaboration and social networking at Research In Motion.
"This latest version of BlackBerry Mobile Conferencing includes a number of enhancements such as the ability to turn any email thread into a conference call automatically, making it even easier for BlackBerry users to get things done", he added reports CBR online.
