Facebook Updates Android App

Facebook has released a much needed update to its Android app, offering significant speed improvements.

The new app, which comes with a entirely new user interface, allows users to browse through photos, messages and updates much easier than before.

According to an articleon CNET, Facebook has made navigation easier on the platform, offering links to Friends Requests, Messages, and Notifications on the top of the page.

Now, users won't have to move from their current page when they need to check new friend requests or notifications.

Facebook has also updated the way in which users view photos from the app. The photos now show tags, captions, likes and comments made on them. The company claims the new update photos section is two times faster than the previous ones.

Taking a page from the Facebook for iPhone app, the Android version has also been gifted with a left side slide out panel, which gives users instant access to games, apps, news feeds and groups.

"Today we're launching an updated Facebook app for Android. It's now quicker and easier to view photos, get messages and navigate around the app. Photos and albums are up to two times faster than the previous Android app. It's also easier to share photos, view comments and edit captions on the go," said Facebook.
