Redmond based operating system Microsoft has launched a new anti-Android marketing campaign in which it is offering free Windows Phone devices to people who have been worst hit by Android malware.
According to The Register, Microsoft Windows Phone evangelist Ben Rudolph, has started a new social media campaign #droidrage on Twitter, in which he is inviting victims of Android malware to come forward and tell the world their ‘horrifying' experience.
"More malware on Android! Been hit? Share yr #droidrage story to win a #windowsphone upgrade. 5 best (worst?) win!" Rudolph tweeted.
"Been nailed with Android malware and have #Droidrage? Share [your] story with me ... you might win an upgrade to a #windowsphone!," he later added. Microsoft confirmed that the campaign was authorised by a tweet from its Twitter account.
Five people with the most terrifying tales will receive free Windows Phone devices as a replacement for their ‘malware-infested' Android.
Rudolph has been getting a lot of responses from Android users, hoping to win one of the five free devices. Microsoft's Windows operating system has been a target of malware since time in memorial and the same is happening with Google's Android platform now.
