Expansys has cut the price of the LG E906, a phone that was co-produced with designer Jil Sander, from £300 to £200 making it the cheapest unlocked (and SIM Free) Windows Phone Mango handset on the market by a big margin.
In comparison, the Nokia Lumia 800 retails for £450 and the HTC Radar for £300; compared to the latter, the E906 has roughly the same hardware but comes with twice the onboard storage which is pretty handy given the phone doesn't have any expansion slot.
Both have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, a 3.8-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a five megapixel camera with flash and DLNA compatibility as well as Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, as well as a slew of services and features that come with it.
The LG E906 is slightly thicker than the HTC Radar (by one millimeter) and the camera on the HTC handset is likely to be better (it has a F2.2 lens and a BSI sensor), plus the Radar has a front facing VGA camera.
Does it justify the £100 price difference? Not from where we're standing, which means that the LG E906 is possibly the best value for money Windows Phone handset on the market.
