ITPP caught the image below on video at the launch event of the joint LG-Prada handset, which is running a platform yet to be publicly available and has only been seen on the 4G Nexus S.

We are running a hands on video walkthrough later on today, which contains the shot of the ‘About phone' screen of the Prada phone by LG 3.0 that clearly shows the build version number of Android ‘Gingerbread' running on the device.

The Prada designed mobile is due to arrive in Europe in January, where beforehand the phone will only be available in the Asian markets.

A source at the event last night noted that this version of Android isn't widely available yet, but hinted that it might be by the time the handset goes on sale - where we have noticed that version of 'Gingerbread' began appearing in our website server logs, as far back as September.

The inside source also mentioned that the handset's design has been around for some time, before Prada even got involved with the phone - where it was seen as early as last year, under the LG K2 brand name at a mobile phone event in Asia.
