Sony Ericsson Gives 50GB Storage Space For Life To Xperia Owners

Sony Ericsson has teamed up with cloud storage specialist Box.net to give away a free account with 50GB storage to every Xperia owner who registers for the deal.

The promotion will last till the 31st of December 2012 (so plenty of time to see things through) and will be available for customers who own any Xperia smartphone, from the Xperia X10 which was released last year.

Interested parties will have to sign in on their box.net account (or register for one first), via the box for Android application.

Unlike a similar promotion by HP for desktop computers, Sony Ericsson is giving away the storage for life, without any time limit or other restrictions.

It is likely that the deal can be had on second hand Xperia handsets as long as they haven't been registered previously.

Box services more than eight million individuals and more than 100,000 businesses globally. Box.net did a similar offer for iPad, iPhone and iPod users back in October, and Blackberry PlayBook fans and TouchPad buyers back in August 2011. It's worth noting that the price of the Box.net account is $19.99 per month, albeit with a 1GB file limit.
