Salesforce.com has moved to acquire Rypple, a deal which will mark its entry into the HR software business.
The company said that Rypple, which makes Internet based employee performance management software which is used by the likes of social networking giant Facebook, will allow it to the enter the human capital management software business, as reported by Reuters.
Rypple Salesforce plans to rename Rypple as Successforce which will be a part of the newly created HCM business division, headed by John Wookey , executive vice president, advanced applications, Salesforce.com.
The company failed to disclose the financial details of the acquisition.
"Our social enterprise strategy continues to accelerate, and is at the root of the broad-based transformation and innovation we are seeing from customers today," said John Wookey, executive vice president, advanced applications, salesforce.com.
"With the launch of Successforce, salesforce.com plans to revolutionise HCM starting with an exciting social performance management app that will delight millions of employees around the world," he added.
Salesforce.com said it expects the acquisition to close before its first fiscal quarter ending April 30, 2012.
