People over at XDA-Developers have managed to release an unofficial version of Google Wallet for Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The US wireless carrier had shocked a lot of users when it decided not to include the highly anticipated service into its version of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich touting Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
According to The Verge, the good people at XDA-Developers have released an unofficial APK file for the Google Wallet service for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
According to the developers forum, users simply need to download and install the file without having to root their smartphones. Several people are reporting that the app is working fine after a few initial hiccups while some even have successfully purchased some items by using the Wallet.
The unofficial application has been tested on Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Nexus LTE. In case users went about trying to install an older variant of the Google Wallet, remnants of that variant have to be completely removed before one would be able to successfully install the new application (through the .apk file).
