A new iPhone app, Find My Car Smart, uses Bluetooth 4.0 to help you save a lot of bother when you can't remember the spot where you left your car.
The app tells you in an instant not only where your car is, but also how far away you are and for how long the car has been parked.
If you already figured out that you could use a mapping app to pin the parking spot where you left your car; you must admit it would be annoying to set it up each time, and the new method is much simpler as you only need to install it once and never have to worry about your car's location again.
The system relies on a Bluetooth Smart USB device which plugs into the lighter with an adapter. When the car starts, the device connects to the iPhone and launches the Find My Car Smart app. When the car stops, the app automatically geotags the car's location without needing the user's input or further interaction.
For now, the Kickstarter project is only available for iPhone 4S, as this app only works with the latest Bluetooth standard. For the $30 price, the interested users will get the app, the necessary dongle and the USB car adapter.
