Microsoft's Bing platform managed to grab 15 percent of the US search engine market as Google and Yahoo saw their shares decline.
According to new data released by comScore, in November, Bing increased its US search engine market share to 15 percent, as reportedby eWeek.
Meanwhile, Yahoo saw its market share dip from 15.2 percent in October to 15.1 percent in November. Bing is expected to overtake Yahoo in the US search engine market by early next year.
Google continues to dominate the search engine market but also suffered a drop in its share. The company share declined from 65.6 percent in October to 65.4 percent in November.
Microsoft has been feeding hundreds of millions of dollars into Bing, and it seems now that strategy is starting to pay off.
Ask.com refused to budge from its position in the US search engine market with a share of 2.6 percent. Surprisingly, in November, AOL, which recently invested a lot of money into turning itself into a hub for online content, increased its market share to 1.6 percent from 0.6 percent in October. The market share for the search engine market is fierce with companies clamoring for the top spots.
